Red Lebanese Hash

The most important Cannabis-Fields are located in the valley of Baalbek. In the fields of this quiet village surrounded by mountains, men and women work clearing dirt and dry leaves from around cannabis plants, a major source of livelihoods in this corner of Lebanon.

The fertile Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon has long been notorious as one of the world's major narcotics-growing regions, producing some of the finest quality cannabis, mostly processed into hashish. Today, the country is the third biggest producer in the world after Morocco and Afghanistan, according to the U.N.

How is it produced?

The Cannabis-Plants are left on the field until they are nearly dry. By this time they will have acquired a brown-reddish color (some Chlorophyll is destroyed by the UV-Rays of the Sun). Finally the plants are brought in a barn to be dried completely.

Hashish is produced in the same way as in Morocco, basically the buds are carefully rubbed over a fine silk-cloth, the resulting powder can be pressed together. Than finer the mesh used, than better the resulting Hashish.

The Hash-Powder is stored inside 35kg plastic bags, in this form it can be kept for a long time without losing much potency (because the resin glands are still closed).

In the winter months the pressing begins. Hash-Powder is filled in linen or cotton bag and pressed under great pressure. On the surface of the Hashish the structure of the tissue which was used can be clearly seen. Usually the Hash is pressed in slabs of 100g, 200g (usually) or 1000g (1kg).

How we extract CBD through Butane Hash Oil

As will all types of extraction, the best processes of BHO revolve around temperature control. The colder you can get the butane, the cleaner you hash is going to be. This procedure takes time to master and there are many different ways to get this done.

The main idea is to pass butane through as fast and as cold as possible before cold boiling off the butane to the point where it is sappy and sticky.

From here the extract should be placed into a vacuum oven and heated slightly. This will allow the butane to be purged out of the oil by lowering the boiling point using a vacuum pump.

The vacuum oven will allow you to heat the slab of oil up evenly and allow for the residual parts per million of butane to be pulled out of the oil before it can be called a finished product.
